PRE-ORDINATION PROGRAM

The Darjeeling Province hosted the Pre-Ordination Program, also known as Arrupe Month, for the inaugural year. A total of 26 Theologians from the North, Central, and Western zones participated in this program. Fr. Shajumon SJ conducted classes on Arrupe's December 27, 1979, letter to the society. Later, we had sessions with Fr. Stanley, Fr. Peter Pappu, Fr. Xavier Alangaram, and Fr. Zacheus Dungdung on legal concerns, pastoral ministry, psycho-sexual spiritual integration, and also on discernment with Fr. Stanley, Fr. Peter Pappu, Fr. Xavier Alangaram. We had the opportunity to visit the old St. Mary's Theologate in Kurseong, the Jesuit Novitiate in Kalimpong, and St. Joseph's School in Darjeeling, better known as North Point School. The programme came to a close with an eight-day retreat and vow renewal. Up in the hills, it was certainly a life-changing event. Our animator for the month was Fr. George Beck SJ of the Dumka province. Up in the mountains, it was certainly a life-changing event.
