Every year the youth of the parish are taken for a monsoon pleasure trip. This year
the request was for an overnight excursion hence they were taken to Mahabaleshwar-
Pachgani from 24 to 25 July. Their enjoyment saw no bounds in the midst of the lush
green hills, pure running water falls, cloud capped mountains and chilled weather.
However, the most warming moments were the welcome given by our very own Fr. Alfie at
Pachgani and the time they spent during the Eucharist remembering and expressing all
the goodness from God that they relished. This year the three-day novenas to St. Ignatius
of Loyola focused on some important parts of ‘In Good Company’ of Hedwig. The
parishioners are getting deeper into the nuances of the Ignatian Spirituality.
Vision is very important to experience God’s creation. To keep that vision clear an Eye
check up camp was organized by the PPC members in collaboration with Nandadeep
Hospital of Ratnagiri on July 13.
Dr. Umesh Mundle, known for his water conservation efforts, was in Ratnagiri on 19
July. Helping Hands group was swift in arranging a rendezvous with him.
In interaction with
Dr. Umesh the participants - Godwin from our church - could express their woes of water
shortage at the same time promise some efforts in rain water harvesting and judicious use
of natural resources. The youth like to hang around the church campus. Hence on 20 July
the screen, the projector, the laptop, music system and a good movie worth discussion,
kept the youth stuck to their chairs for two hours. Besides self-cooked popcorns to please
the palates, they also had some interactions after the screening to strengthen their spirit.
